In recognition of their activism projects for raising awareness for veganism, World Vegan Vision has appointed the below young people as youth ambassadors.

Janani Shivakumar

Janani Shivakumar’s vegan journey began when she stopped by our booth in June 2019 and she has not looked back. Shortly thereafter, she spoke at the UN about her work in India on climate change and we appointed her as a youth ambassador in September 2019. Janani has gone on to found the very first Vegan Club at a high school in New Jersey at her own high school in Metuchen NJ.

Heeta Thakkar

We are proud to appoint the very articulate and engaging young lady named Heeta Thakkar from Floral Park, NY. Heeta is a vegan and has convinced many of her friends and her parents to go vegan for the sake of the animals. She made a very engaging speech at the Ahimsa Thanksgiving Celebration 2019 at the Consulate general of India in New York City. Heeta has also started a vegan club, at her middle school in Floral Park to formally propagate her activism among fellow students.

 

Heeta and Janani were very much inspred by the film maker Dolly Ahuja-Vyas at the 2019 Ahimsa Thanksgiving event.
