SUMMARY:Heal Your Heart - A Lecture by Dr. Bimal Chhejer
DESCRIPTION:  \nPhotos are here. \n \nPress Release in The South Asian Times \nSummary of the event and our subsequent communications:\nHere are five key points from the event that promote a pure vegan lifestyle\, not just vegetarian: \n\nLifestyle Medicine Focus: Dr. Chhajer emphasizes the importance of lifestyle medicine\, which treats heart patients through lifestyle changes rather than relying on medical interventions alone. This highlights the role of a whole-food\, plant-based (vegan) diet in preventing and reversing heart disease.\nHeart Disease Epidemic: Dr. Chhajer discusses heart disease as a global epidemic\, driven by unhealthy dietary habits\, including the consumption of fatty foods. A pure vegan lifestyle\, which excludes animal fats as well as all processed oil\, can directly reduce heart disease risk.\nFatty Food Consumption: He mentioned that in people who may not consume animal products\, fatty foods (like oil) containing triglyceride are clogging arteries\, leading to heart disease and death\, implicitly promoting the benefits of a vegan diet.\nDisease Prevention: He repeatedly refers to preventing diseases\, especially heart disease\, through diet and lifestyle. A vegan diet is widely recognized as a preventive approach for many chronic diseases\, including heart disease\, diabetes\, and certain cancers.\nGlobal Health Impact: Dr. Chaajer connects the global prevalence of heart disease to dietary patterns\, noting that even in affluent countries like the US\, where fatty foods are common\, heart disease is rampant. A vegan lifestyle offers a sustainable solution to improve global health by eliminating the consumption of these harmful fats. \n\nHere are sample of responses from the attendees for your perusal: \nFrom Krishna ji: \nHello Rakesh\, \nExcellent presentation by Dr. Chhajer last weekend and a “class act” follow-up by you! \nIt was a privilege to be an attendee.\nFrom Tony ji:\nGood day Big brother \nThanks for the email. \nQuite helpful \nI have booked a consultation and with Dr C \nNeed to upload all the medical docs. \nThanks for arranging the seminar. \nFrom Jinesh ji: \nThank you so much Rakesh uncle. \nReally appreciate all the details below. \nWhen you have a moment in the evening or weekend\, I would like to connect with you please over phone to enquire a little more on heart health . \nSecond Email (Non Attendees): \nAn email was also sent to 2\,000+ individuals who did not attend this talk by Dr. Chhajer\, to encourage them to stay engaged with future initiatives. \nFollowing are few samples of responses received from this email campaign: \nFrom John ji: \nDear Rakesh: \nWOW \nThank you for the email list of things to do. \nThank you for sending me a link to listen to what I missed.\nFrom Subhas ji: \nThanks\, immensely Rakesh ji for this compassionate gesture of providing this opportunity to take advantage of the meeting \, those who couldn’t attend the original event. Highly commendable public service. God bless. \nFrom Surinder ji:\nMany of these proposal I am doing already thanks very much Rakesh ji \nFrom Sushma ji:\nThank you \, Thank you so so much for sending this. Shah and Mrs. Malti Shah\, by Ms. Sonal\, who elaborately explained the organization’s mission and vision.Following this\, Ms. Surbhi Midha\, a Sivananda and hatha yoga expert with over 5000 hours of teaching experience across different continents\, led a yoga session.Next\, Dr. N.K. Sharma gave a talk on plant-based nutrition\, emphasizing the importance of fruits and the need to avoid dairy products. An engaging session on yoga by Dr. Savita Sharma followed\, focusing on tapping exercises and laughter yoga.Additionally\, we showcased vegan-friendly books and conducted sampling of dairy-free dahi and butter for the attendees.Refreshing vegan food was provided by three totally vegan vendors based in the same city\, Gurgaon: Loving Hut\, Ethigreenz\, and WhiteCub.The event concluded with the distribution of World Vegan Vision T-shirts\, caps\, pins\, and bags.Overall\, this inaugural event by World Vegan Vision – Delhi was a great success\, with 27 people attending.Acknowledgment of SupportThe event’s success was largely due to the able leadership of Dr. N.K. Sharma. He ensured the timely booking of the venue and encouraged us to share the invite creatively. Dr. Sharma provided the World Vegan Vision T-shirts\, pins\, and vegan-friendly books for the event. As always\, he captivated the audience with his endearing style of speaking and vast knowledge base\, sharing his experiential knowledge with everyone present.Ms. Sonal\, Vice President of World Vegan Vision – Delhi NCR\, played a critical role in organizing services from vendors\, coordinating with the WVV Delhi core team and various service providers\, and finalizing the vendor list. She procured the display boards and standees\, created the presentation\, liaised with service providers\, and warmly interacted with attendees at the venue. Her contributions were crucial to the successful execution of the Yoga Day event.I would also like to acknowledge the significant contributions of Abhey\, Assistant Vice President\, World Vegan Vision (WVV-Delhi NCR)\, who\, despite being out of town\, played a crucial role in coordinating and collaborating with the team in Delhi. He managed the distribution of invites to ensure maximum participation\, facilitated communication\, and ensured attendees were well-informed. He helped connect members and volunteers Mrs. Madhu\, Ms. Kiran\, Mr. Bharat\, and Mr. Nabhdeep\, ensuring seamless collaboration and timely sharing of all necessary information. He created a dedicated WhatsApp group and registration form that were instrumental in registering and managing the attendees\, calling them directly\, and keeping the registration sheet updated regularly.I would like to extend a special vote of thanks to Mr. Bharat\, who volunteered to assist with the setup and coordination at the venue\, as well as interacting with attendees to promote World Vegan Vision’s mission.I also want to thank Mr. Nabhdeep\, who volunteered to handle the electronics setup and facilitate the presentation during the event. He engaged with attendees to discuss the importance of avoiding animal products.A vote of thanks goes to Ms. Kiran\, a vegan and a cancer survivor\, who interacted with the attendees and shared her journey. She also facilitated her student\, a young 12-year-old girl\, in reciting a poem written by Ms. Sonal on the importance of plant proteins.Thank you for your attention to this matter.
